Why it matters

You can only vote where you are registered. If you moved suburbs or provinces, update your details early.

Official ways to check

  1. **Online:** Visit [registertovote.elections.org.za](https://registertovote.elections.org.za) (IEC Voter Portal).
  2. **IEC App / MyVoters:** Use the Electoral Commission’s official mobile channels when available.
  3. **In person:** Ask at your local IEC office with your ID.

What you need

  • South African ID (green barcoded book or smart ID card)
  • Your current residential address

Tip

Registration weekend for LGE 2026 was 20–21 June 2026. You can still use online channels where open — always confirm on elections.org.za.
